Royal icing is great for making embellishments that you need to be hard and hold their shape. It also works great as a glue to add other items to a cake such as fondant decorations or to build a gingerbread house.
- 4 c icing sugar
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- 3 egg whites
Sift sugar & cream of tartar
Using mixer, beat in egg whites for 7-10 minutes or until thick enough to hold shape
IMPORTANT: Keep sealed in a Ziploc bag as it dries quickly
