Icing butterflies are easier than they look!
- Royal Icing
- Wax paper
- Drawing of a butterfly
- Small piping tip and bag
- Old egg carton
Using Royal Icing and a sample drawing of a butterfly, cover the drawing with a square of wax paper and then simply pipe the icing along the outlines. This requires a small round tip and a bit of patience but truly isn’t difficult.
Once done, take each piece of wax paper and place in the folds of an upturned egg carton so that the butterfly wings are now bent upwards.
Royal Icing dries very quickly so do these one at a time. Once dry and hardened, the wax paper should easily peel away and you can then place your butterfly on your cake!
